JAMES BENTLEY was born in Montreal, Canada and studied Illustration and Design at Dawson College in his native town. In 1997-98, he  attended the Illustration Academy in Liberty Missouri where he further refined his skills.  James began his professional career as an in-house illustrator for a design studio before becoming a full-time freelance artist. His work has appeared on book covers, theatre posters, annual reports, advertisements and magazines in both North America and Europe. In addition to his commercial illustrations, his art is in  private collections world wide.

JAMES BENTLEY est né à Montréal, Canada. Il a étudié l’illustration  et le dessin au Collège Dawson dans sa ville natale.  Dans 1997-98, il suivit des cours de perfectionnement au Illustration Academy à Liberty dans le Missouri aux États-Unis.  James commença sa carrière professionnelle comme illustrateur attitré dans un studio de dessinateurs avant de devenir un artiste indépendant à plein temps. Ses travaux ont parus sur des couvertures de livres et de rapports annuels, des affiches de théâtre, d’annonces publicitaires et dans différentes revues d’Amérique du Nord et d’Europe.
